On behalf of the Alberni Valley Breast Connections Board of Directors, we’re pleased to present our 2026-2027 Strategic Plan. Thank you everyone for your input and encouragement. Below is a list of our goals for this year, we’re an ambitious bunch!
VISION: To create a strong and connected community where any person in the Alberni Valley diagnosed with breast cancers feels supported and empowered.
MISSION: To connect with people in the Alberni Valley diagnosed with breast cancer with care, compassion and resources.
STRATEGIC GOALS:
1. To create systems over the next 12 months to strengthen the organization’s capacity and ensure long-term sustainability.
- File for charitable status (within 6 months we complete the application).
- Organize our finances.
- Create a plan on how our funds will be distributed.
2: To create visibility for AVBC to obtain community interest and support.
- Develop and promote our digital assets/website and social media.
- Participate in and host local events.
- Create and distribute printed materials.
- Engage with the local media.
3. Obtain more funding to ensure our long-term stability and capacity to support breast cancer patients.
- Create a fundraising plan.
- Promote volunteer opportunities/build relationships with volunteers.
